RAIN POLICY

Hello,

We are so excited to be a part of your beach wedding! Our team has learned some very helpful pointers on how to prepare in case of inclement weather on your special day. As you know, when you choose to do any outdoor event, you are choosing to take a chance that the weather may affect your day. Florida weather is beautiful, but it is still not a guarantee that your day will be exempt from rain or inclement weather. Florida Weddings is a service provider, not a physical venue, therefore we do not own a back-up space to use.

However, we do highly recommend that you secure a back-up location for your ceremony, and we provide you with phone numbers and locations of places for you to inquire about pricing and availability for your back-up space. This list was provided on the information that you saw when you booked. It is a list of hotels, resorts and private rooms at restaurants.

We recommend that you make a couple of phone calls to find out pricing and availability for your day. At some locations, you do not have to reserve and pay for a location ahead of time, at others you do. However, we do suggest that you know some viable options that are available to you should the need arise on your day, you will be prepared and have a plan to revert to. We provide all of this information when you book with us and well in advance of your wedding to be a help to you so that your day will turn out beautiful and stress free. Securing and paying for the back up space is the responsibility of the bride and groom as stated on our website and our contracts.

If you choose not to follow our recommendation of securing a backup space, we will honor your decision, but our office will not be able to assist you in securing a back-up space last minute should inclement weather occur. Please look into this item during the planning months.

Some brides choose to say that they will get married on the beach rain or shine and that is fine. We will never stand in the way of what a bride wishes. However, we do need to inform you of what our policies are if you choose to be in the rain. Florida is the lightning capital of the world and if there is lightning within a 15-mile radius of your wedding, we will not allow any of our vendors to be on the beach and we highly recommend that you and your guests do not stand on the beach as anyone would be at high risk of being struck by lightning. This is for the safety of everyone involved. If it is just raining, our officiant may be willing to stand in the rain to marry you, but
our photographers and videographers will not provide their services outside in the rain. They have expensive equipment that can be ruined by the rain, and they will not jeopardize the equipment that creates their livelihood. They will provide their services indoors within the scheduled time frame provided in your wedding package.

Decorations can only be set up once, due to the amount of time that it takes to set up. Once it is set up there is not enough time to tear down and reset at another location, in order to start the wedding on time.

We usually try to set up all decorations on the beach if it is not raining or lightning, hoping that the weather will clear for your ceremony.

We can set up your Décor indoors if that is your choice and with the approval of the resort or back up option you have secured.

You will want to contact our team the day of the wedding if there is concern of inclement weather and will work with you to help you make a decision that will be best for you and your guests as well as our vendors. As stated on the contract and our website, there is no refund on décor items due to inclement weather.

Most of our weddings are able to be on the beach, and again, our goal and desire as a beach wedding company is to do our best to have your wedding on the beach!
