Siesta Key Beach Weddings

You slip off your shoes and step onto the sand. It's cool—impossibly cool for a Florida afternoon. And white. So white it almost glows. The Gulf stretches out in front of you, turquoise and calm. In a few hours, you'll stand here and marry the love of your life while the sky turns impossible colors. But right now, you just wiggle your toes and smile. You found it. The perfect beach.

Siesta Key Beach has been scientifically proven to have the whitest, finest sand in the world. That's not hyperbole—it's geology, verified by researchers who analyzed sand from beaches around the globe.

The sand here is 99% pure quartz crystal, so fine it squeaks beneath your feet and stays cool even when the Florida sun is blazing. The water is that impossible turquoise color. The sunsets are the kind that stop conversations. And the vibe is quintessential Florida beach town: relaxed, colorful, and genuinely happy.

“I've been to beaches all over the world. Siesta Key's sand is something else—our barefoot ceremony was actually comfortable, even at 6pm. And the sunset photos... I've shown them to everyone. People think we edited the colors. We didn't. The team at Florida Weddings made the planning process so easy, cannot thank them enough!”

Frequently Asked Questions

Do we need a permit to get married on Siesta Key?
Yes — Sarasota County requires beach ceremony permits for Siesta Key. We handle the permit application and coordinate with the county on your behalf. It's entirely seamless from your perspective.
What’s the difference between Siesta Beach, Crescent Beach, and Turtle Beach?
Siesta Beach (north end, off Beach Road) is the famous main beach — widest, most facilities, most people. Crescent Beach (middle) is quieter and great for medium-sized ceremonies. Turtle Beach (south end) is the most secluded, smaller, and perfect for intimate ceremonies or elopements.
How do we get to Siesta Key?
Siesta Key is connected to Sarasota by two bridges. Sarasota–Bradenton Airport (SRQ) is about 20 minutes away. The key has its own village with restaurants, shops, and some accommodation, though most guests stay on the mainland in Sarasota.
What time should we schedule our ceremony for the best sunset photos?
We time it for you based on the date of your ceremony. Sunset on Florida’s Gulf Coast varies from about 5:30pm in December to 8:30pm in June. We recommend starting 45–60 minutes before sunset for ideal light.
Can we have a large ceremony on Siesta Key?
Yes — Siesta Beach accommodates large ceremonies well with its wide expanse of sand. For very large groups (100+ guests), we recommend working with us early to secure the right permit and setup area.
