Anna Maria Beach

Your Anna Maria Island Beach Wedding

Picture this: warm sand between your toes, a gentle Gulf breeze carrying the scent of salt air and tropical flowers, and the person you love standing across from you as the sun melts into the horizon. That's not a daydream—that's a Tuesday evening on Anna Maria Island.

Anna Maria Island and Bradenton Beach are not just another Florida beach destination —it's a seven-mile stretch of "Old Florida" charm where high-rises are banned by law, chain restaurants don't exist, and your wedding photos will look like they belong in a magazine.

This barrier island off Florida's Gulf Coast has earned its reputation as one of the most romantic wedding destinations in the state. We've coordinated hundreds of weddings on Anna Maria's beaches, and we know exactly which stretches of sand photograph best at golden hour, which spots offer natural privacy, and how to time your ceremony so the sun dips below the horizon right as you share your first kiss.

"We live in Ohio and had no idea how to plan a beach wedding from 1,000 miles away. The team knew Anna Maria area like the back of their hand—they picked the perfect spot on Bradenton Beach where we had the beach practically to ourselves. Our photos are unreal."

— Jessica & Ryan, October 2024

  • Why Anna Maria Island and Brandenton Beach

A Beach That Feels Like a Secret

Unlike Florida's more commercialized beaches, Anna Maria Island has strict development codes that preserve its laid-back, village atmosphere. There are no towering hotels blocking your view—just beach cottages, local restaurants, and miles of unspoiled shoreline. Your guests will feel like they've discovered a hidden gem. See real Anna Maria weddings in our gallery—you'll notice how intimate and uncrowded these beaches feel.

    The Sand Stays Cool

Anna Maria's quartz-crystal sand has an unusual property: it stays remarkably cool even on the hottest summer days. Your barefoot ceremony won't leave anyone hopping from foot to foot.

    Easy Access, Island Feel

The island is connected to the mainland by bridge, making it accessible for guests flying into Tampa (90 minutes), Sarasota (30 minutes), or St. Pete (45 minutes). Once they arrive, the free Island Trolley runs the length of Anna Maria, so no one needs to worry about parking or designated drivers.

  • Why Makes Us Different Here

We Know Every Beach on This Island

Not all Anna Maria beaches are created equal.  The beach access next to the Sand Bar restaurant on Pine Avenue offers dramatic views where the Gulf meets Tampa Bay—ideal for intimate elopements. Manatee Beach has convenient pavilions and restrooms for larger parties.  Coquina Beach is my FAV & provides a wider stretch of sand perfect for elaborate setups with bamboo arches and chair arrangements.  Coquina also feels the most quiet than other beaches in the area as it does not allow swimming in the area we use for our weddings.

We secure your Manatee County beach permit, coordinate setup timing down to the minute, and we suggest backup plans ready if Florida weather decides to be Florida weather. You just show up and get married.

    Local Connections That Matter

Because we've built relationships with Anna Maria's vendors over years of planning weddings here, we can recommend the best local florists who source tropical blooms, Salons and spas to get your hair, make up and nails done and our vetted list of dinner reception options.  We provide you our list of perfect restaurants with private rooms.  There's a reason we've been voted WeddingWire Couples' Choice seven years running—our Anna Maria couples consistently tell us we made their day stress-free. Read what they say in our reviews.
